Our unique teaching method offers a fresh way of learning which will boost your confidence and competence in Italian whilst making the learning process highly accessible and enjoyable.
How it works
Il Club del Racconto meets online every two weeks on a Monday evening at 19:00 UK time. Meetings are hosted on Zoom and usually last about one hour. Discussions are entirely in Italian. On receipt of payment you will receive a link to the meeting, the short story to be discussed and questions or prompts for discussion relevant to the story. Il Club del Racconto sessions are very informal but supervised by highly experienced and qualified Italian tutors.
My Profile
- We are Cristina and Genesia, professional Italian teachers and founders of Il Club Italiano
- Native Italian speakers, we have been friends and colleagues for many years. We first met in London during our teacher training, more than 20 years ago now.
- After teacher training, our careers took parallel but separate paths; between us, we have taught Italian across all age groups and levels up to degree level, including with prestigious schools such as International House, The Italian Cultural Institute and University College London. Through all these years of teaching, we never lost touch and never lost sight of our early ambitions.
- Alongside our formal teaching roles, we began to organise courses and events together; partly in response to our students’ desire to learn beyond the classroom, but also driven by our own desire to develop courses which reflected our shared teaching ethos and passion for Italian culture.
- These early courses and events were the foundation of Il Club Italiano, a place where all are welcome and where learning Italian is embedded within a vibrant social community driven by our love of Italian culture.

- Italian conversation lessons with a literary focus.
- Adults learners. Suitable for intermediate and advanced levels.
- £8 per session.
- £35 for 5 sessions
- Spend an evening with fabulous works of short fiction by celebrated and lesser-known Italian authors. Meet with other students online to discuss, debate and discover. Improve your Italian communication skills, analyse short fiction and meet new people. Small groups, great conversations.

Great conversation, friendly group
All on ‘Zoom’. An espresso, an aperitivo perhaps, a tight packed bar in a central city somewhere, my kitchen, your lounge. A friendly group with a shared passion for freedom of thought and idea, discussion, and debate… inspiring, diverse, sometimes challenging; always a fun way to spend an hour.
